Senator Anthony Cannella (R-Ceres) today was appointed by President pro Tempore Kevin de León to serve as Vice Chair of the Transportation and Housing Committee. In December, he was appointed to the California State Senate Committee on Rules.
“As an engineer, I understand the importance of having strong, safe and reliable state infrastructure systems, which include transportation. California individuals and businesses rely on our vast highway system and mass transit every single day – from the working commuters to parents taking their children to school to distribution trucks delivering millions of pounds of food, goods and resources throughout our state and beyond – it is imperative we continue to invest in our transportation infrastructure to ensure California remains competitive in our rapidly growing global economy,” said Cannella. “I am honored to serve as Transportation and Housing Committee Vice Chair, and look forward to working with colleagues to develop cost-effective, innovative solutions to ensure our California economy remains viable and vibrant.”
Cannella was also reappointed as Vice Chair of the Agriculture Committee, and as a member of the Energy, Utilities and Communication and Joint Legislative Audit Committees.
